About
Hi, I’m Sadie Thorla-Lopez, the creative behind Olive & Oak.
My photography journey began about nine years ago in a slightly unconventional way—by meeting a group of birdwatchers in my backyard. My old soul clicked with them immediately, and before I knew it, my 70-year-old best friends were teaching me everything they knew about natural light photography. Those early lessons shaped how I see the world and how I photograph it today.
Now, as a near adult, I use those same techniques to capture meaningful moments for high school and college graduates, couples, and families. My goal is to create images that feel warm, honest, and true to the season of life you’re in.
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually in the kitchen. I’ve been baking since I was about ten years old, and it’s still my favorite form of stress relief!
Olive & Oak is a home for all of it—photography, baking, and creativity in its many forms. As this space continues to grow, my heart behind it stays the same: to create things with intention and help people celebrate the moments that matter most.
At Olive & Oak, the goal is never just the final product. It’s the experience surrounding it.
I’m drawn to natural light, honest moments, simple ingredients, and a slower, more thoughtful pace. I care deeply about the people I work with and the stories I’m invited into. Whether I’m photographing an engagement, a family, or a milestone season, or baking for a gathering or celebration, my hope is always the same—to create something that fosters connection and brings people together.
Olive & Oak is a place of service first. If you’re here, you’re always welcome.
If you’re looking for photography that feels natural and personal, or baked goods made with care and generosity, I would be honored to work with you. My hope is that every experience with Olive & Oak feels thoughtful, warm, and rooted in genuine hospitality.
I’m so glad you’re here.
